Belluck & Fox Attorney Named Mass Tort Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” for NYC
NEW YORK, NY, August 15, 2016 — Belluck & Fox, LLP is proud to announce that trial counsel James C. Long Jr. has been named the Best Lawyers 2017 Mass Tort Litigation “Plaintiff’s Lawyer of the Year” for New York City. This award, which is based on rankings from peers, is considered a significant honor in the legal profession.
Jim is widely known for his dedication and success in representing victims of asbestos exposure. As one of New York’s most well-regarded asbestos litigators, he has fought aggressively for the rights of plaintiffs, securing major verdicts of $37 million, $22 million and $16.25 million throughout his distinguished career.
Jim was also part of the Belluck & Fox, LLP trial team that secured verdicts of $32 million and $19.5 million in 2011. He has been listed in Best Lawyers since 2009.
In addition to arguing cases in New York, Jim has represented asbestos victims in courts in Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, New Hampshire and New Mexico. Before joining Belluck & Fox, he was an asbestos litigator with Weitz & Luxenberg and at Greitzer & Locks.
Prior to his entering private practice, Jim served as assistant district attorney and Assistant Chief of Homicide in Philadelphia.
