Jordan C. Fox Wins Prestigious 2013 ‘Best Lawyers’ Award

The New York law firm Belluck & Fox, LLP is proud to announce that partner Jordan Fox was recently named the 2013 Plaintiff’s Lawyer of the Year in New York City Mass Tort Litigation by The Best Lawyers in America® (Copyright 2012 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, SC). Mr. Fox has previously been recognized by Best Lawyers®, appearing on their list of top attorneys continuously since 2006, but the 2013 award marks the first year that he has received the “Lawyer of the Year” award.
Mr. Fox has a long and highly successful history advocating on behalf of victims of asbestos exposure. In 2011, he led a Belluck & Fox, LLP legal team in securing two of the top ten verdicts in New York State for that year. The larger of the two, a $32 million verdict obtained in the case of Ronald Dummitt and Doris Kay Dummitt v. A.W. Chesterton, et al. (No. 190196/10), was the largest product liability verdict in the State that year, and was the fourth largest overall.
Following appeal, the verdict was upheld by Justice Joan Madden of the New York Supreme Court in a decision where she rejected all of the appealing defendant’s arguments as to their liability. Justice Madden remitted the damages awarded to the client to $8 million, a figure that still represents one of the largest sustained verdicts in New York asbestos litigation.
The second major verdict of 2011 was a $19.5 million verdict in the case of Konstantin v. 630 Third Avenue Associates (No. 190134/10). It was the tenth largest overall verdict for that year, and was first in the construction litigation category.
Mr. Fox has won more than $100 million in verdicts during his career.
